Founded in 2016 by Jean-Charles Samuelian and Charles Gorintin, Alan is the first independent digital health insurance in France since 1986.

Hiring top talent is key so we don’t want to be restricted to a small number of cities, therefore in the countries we are already present in, Alaners can be based fully remotely. Hiring to raise the bar

We want to get to know you, and for you to learn about us. We aim for our successful candidates to gather enough insight into our culture & mission to make an informed decision to join us!

Step 1

Screening Interview

A video call to learn more about you and your career ambitions.  Also for you to enrich your knowledge about Alan, the team and the role.

Step 2

Written Questions

We have a strong written culture (in English) so we want to assess your ability to articulate a comprehensive and argued point of view in a concise way.

Step 3

Technical Interview

This interview is a deep dive into the technical skills required to succeed in the job you are applying for.

Step 4

Behavioural Interview

This interview is conducted by someone with a different expertise to you, to assess your cultural fit to Alan, to our values and working methods.



We sometimes ask for professional references before we proceed to the next stage.

Step 5

Alan Day

You will spend the day with us (remotely) meeting different Alaners during our assessments and interviews. It will give you true insight into the Day in the Life of an Alaner!

Step 6


We commit to providing feedback within 2 working days maximum and if all goes well, you will receive your offer!

Frequently asked questions

How can I set myself up for success during the Alan recruitment process?

Reading, reading, reading - We have a vast amount of public content about the different communities at Alan, we share a lot about our mission and our ways of working. So make sure you spend some time absorbing the key elements from our blogs in English, French, Spanish & Flemish

How long does the whole process take?

It varies from candidate to candidate depending on their availability and if they are in other interview processes.  Most stages don’t require you to work on a project at home so we can move quickly between each stage if we need to.

Do I need to be fluent in English to work at Alan?

Yes — our business language is English, all our written communication is in English, as is a large proportion of our oral communication. So an advanced level of written & spoken English is required.

What is expected at the Written Question stage?

We look for an approach that reflects our internal way of communication - we simplify by communicating with a clear structure, we back up what we say with examples and data points. The importance of this step is often underestimated by candidates but it’s a key one as writing is at the centre of our culture and ways of working.

How can I best prepare for the Behavioural Interview?

Reflect on your career so far, think about the highlights and the lowlights.  Take a step back on the things you achieved, those you did not, the people you worked with, the environment you thrive in...
